Hey look! We all blinked and another year went by! 
SAD Fam, we are so pleased and proud that Sunnydale After Dark continues to be your cozy and chaotic Spuffy homebase for fanfic and fan art. We’re also thrilled as always by all the new members who have rolled in in the past year to read and rain fic on us. We now have 3,547 members, which is amazing! Thank you to everyone who has joined us and made this community so much better by being a part of it.
We’ve had a blast this year! Looking back, there have been so many special and fun events. Wanderlust was our first summer travel-themed event full of road trips and Spuffy shenanigans. In the fall, we hosted the Missing Pieces event where the site was inundated with clever and creative missing scenes for all of September. We did another Tis the Season gifting event for the holidays. Members were as generous and giving as always. And then, of course, in the madness of March, we hosted our traditional Short and Spuffy drabble event where authors stormed the site 100 words at a time every single day and everyone tried desperately to keep up! 
In between (and all throughout) the events, our Discord community has been thriving. We have such a fun and thoughtful group there who really feel like family at this point. WIP Wednesday and Slay Day Sundays have been a wonderful way to stay close and connected. Big thank you to Lilacsandorangeblossoms who diligently spearheads WIP Wednesday for us every week.
The archive now hosts 2,376 works with a total word count of 34,898,253 and readers have left 64,866 comments totaling 4,463,046 words! That’s a lot of comments and a whole lot of words!! Way to go!
Thank you from all the SADmins to everyone reading this. Sunnydale After Dark doesn’t exist without your support. Whether you read, like, comment, write, draw, design, donate, or just like to hang and chat on Discord, you’ve made this place work. And for that, we’re forever thankful.

The archive is full of incredible fics, and the events are always top notch (don't we all love the madness of Short & Spuffy???), but I'm going to give a special shoutout to 'Tis the Season! I just love the idea of creating something specifically for someone (or someones in a few cases!). It's so fun to brainstorm little bits of dialogue, plot points, or other details you know will delight the recipient. And their surprise when they get the gift notification makes it all worth it.

Wow, 4 years! That's an awesome milestone and I'm so excited that I got to be part of it this year.
I think my favorite thing this year is that as my art skills have grown, I've gained the confidence to share my art with the community here and I've had the pleasure od watching my art continue to improve. So thank you SAD for being such a supportive place and helping me gain more confidence in my art!
And thank you to the admins for creating and maintaining the archive! You all are the best!

I love all the events here, it’s hard to pick a favorite because they’re all so unique. But my favorite memory of the year is writing Spuffy in a way I wouldn’t have if it hadn’t been for SAD. So a huge thank you and a cheers to 4 years! 🥂🎉
Happy Birthday, SAD! I've had a lot of fun this year, but Short and Spuffy in March was my favorite part. Drabbles are HARD for me when they have loose guidelines. Writing exactly 100 words per chapter was such a fun challenge for me personally as a writer. I also really loved seeing how much story could be captured in 3,100 words by all the fabulous participants.
Happy 4th birthday, SAD! And thank you to the mods for being awesome at what they do and for making us feel like we’re part of a big family.

I really want to give a shout out to the SAD community on Discord. It's become my fandom home. You can drop by and talk about writing, a fic you've read, the weather (very important these days), the reboot, how the reboot got cancelled, your favourite Spuffy art or your kids, pets, your vacation, your work or whatever else is on your mind. It's a cozy and happy place.
