@honeygirl I do the same thing. . . the worst is when I'm driving and I can't get to a computer or hell, even a notebook until hours pass. I try to picture the words written down in my head, and sometmes that works.

And when not one of this things work, I quietly sob into my pillow. I'm kidding. I just try every day to write something. Whether it is story related or not.

@Niamh - I love all of these so much! I get ideas for scenes and dialogue when I’m walking too and then have to repeat over and over until I get home and can write it down!

I work out fight scenes like I'm choreographing a stage production of various episodes (Anytime Angel fights either Buffy or Spike is gold).

And yes, I do realize that's quite black humor). I go back and edit some stuff that's previously been written (some posted, some not). I picture Spike following the punk bands and getting into a drinking contest with Joey Ramone, Sid Viscious, and several other icons from the punk era.

Having battled writer's block for most of my life, I find that a number of things work. All those suggestions made by the others, sometimes all mashed together. If I'm using a particular episode as a springboard, I go back and watch that obsessively. I switch off sing-along music to soundtracks

@Acb6293 - I reach out to a fandom friend to talk things through. Sometimes writing out the problems in an email is enough to see what the trouble is and gets me back on track. I also let my mind wander to scenes down the road and write a bit of those to help me see where I want to go.

what do you guys do when you get writer's block? I really like the story I'm writing and don't want to leave it, but I can't seem to write anymore. Thankfully, I'm a few chapters ahead of my beta so I'll still be able to post for a while, I'm just hoping to get passed it before she catches up.
