Yes @slayme, it also bases its recommendations off of the stories you've interacted with... favorited, liked, etc! So the more you interact with stories, the more accurate the recommendations will become.

In other news, the fic rec generator has made me much more concious of the importance of marking stories as "read". I've begun doing that, but I see I may need to go back and mark a lot of older stories that aren't marked.
