I've wondered if I should do "previously on"s before. I am so grateful to anyone who follows along on a WIP and cheers me on as I go, I want it to be easy on them! I've never gotten into the habit though.

I don't read many WIP, but if I am, I usually go back and re-read the previous chapter. Like for Chelle's Spaceship, I always read the previous chapter again before the new one. It refreshes my memory AND I have double the Spaceship to read!

On the other hand, if I'm posting regularly, I don't worry about it. I'm usually only following one or two stories at a time, so while I appreciate it, I don't usually need it. Usually....

Adding a few "previously on" to my story chapters is something I play with all the time. If, for some reason, it's been a long time between chapters, I will often do it just so people aren't frustrated by wondering what's going on.

@Teuntje I love when authors add previously ons. I can’t remember what I had for breakfast, let alone what happened in all the stories I greedily started reading at the same time.

Honeygirl that’s why I added a few previously on, in my story 😆. I’m always happy when other authors do so cause I ready so many stories and get confused with all the plots and different characters.

I hear ya, Niamh. I started getting super confused when I was reading them all in time and had to go back to reread. I had a couple days away from reading and had to play catch up. It was much easier to follow story lines when I had several chapters to read in a row. I think I'll stick to that!

I am exercising my procrastination as willpower and have NOT read any of the drabbles being churned out like buttah. Several months ago I stopped reading WIPs because I couldn't keep track of which Buffy was with Spike or in denial. And that is why my willpower is being sorely tested right now.
